Grading Notes: This book has both the front and back cover detached. They still come with the book but Bottom 1"-2" of book is water stained covers and interior pages from cover to cover. 3 of the 4 edges have wear and some minor chipping. Only one that doesn't is the top edge. Interior is complete. Two extra staples added to interior pages.

Adam Strange, Hawkman, and Hawkwoman in Hawkmans ship have arrived at Rann; The planet is under siege by the Thanagarians; Hawkmans ship is hit in the space battle, and the ship crash lands on Rann; As the three survivors assess their situation, and deal with the escape of the Shadow Thief, a group of Rannians discover them; These Rannians, calling themselves the Undergrounders, are bring led by Stranges friend Sardath; The Undergrounders are fighting against the races that have conquered Rann, and the trio joins them; The Undergrounders are attacked by the Kirri, one of the races holding Rann; The Undergrounders hold off the Kirri, and manage to escape via Zeta-Flare to their underground base on Crater Island; There, Sardath begins repairs of the Hawks starship; Strange finds out that his wife, Alanna, has been captured by the High Deleon, the leader of all of these races; Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Aquaman, The Flash (Barry Allen), and Wonder Woman appear in flashback.

On a remote dig in the Middle East, archaeologists Kent Nelson (aka Dr. Fate) and his wife Inza discover the fabled Masks of Medusa; These masks supposedly forced the viewers to be overcome with emotions; Their dig a success, the Nelsons return home to an unveiling party hosted by longtime friend Rex Tyler; The Medusa Masks are put on display at the party, with Rex Tylers fiance Wendi Harris admiring them; However, when a mysterious man lights a cigarette lighter underneath one of the masks, Wendi is filled with the desire to steal the masks; When the rest of the guests notice the theft, the stranger passes the lighter under another mask, and all of the attendees burst into uncontrollable laughter. One-page text feature tells the origin of the original Psycho-Pirate.

When Solomon Grundy last fought Green Lantern Alan Scott, Green Lantern encased Solomon Grundy in an emerald sphere prison floating above Earth; Years later, the sphere has now crash landed back on Earth, and Solomon Grundy has emerged to get his revenge on Green Lantern; Solomon Grundy instinctually heads back to his home of Slaughter Swamp, which at this point is bordering the Tyler Chemical Company plant; At the Tower of Fate, Kent Nelson is warned that there is trouble by his crystal ball; Seeing the source of the trouble to be Slaughter Swamp, Nelson becomes Dr. Fate; Hourman comes across Solomon Grundy in Slaughter Swamp; Hourman pops his Miraclo pill, then attacks Solomon Grundy. One-page text feature tells the origins of Dr. Fate and Hourman.
