Sweethearts was Charlton's continuation of the first monthly romance title, lasting from the romance boom of the '50s until the early '70s. Patty and Irene spend a week at the 1964 World's Fair, where Irene hopes to meet someone exotic and more interesting than her hometown boys. After a series of bad relationships, Gina is leery of getting too close with Paul. Melinda's family takes her to a remote Maine cabin for the summer, where they hope she can think about something besides men...but there's always the milkman.
